(Another) Makeup Revolution Haul

My love affair with the brand Makeup Revolution will come as no surprise to many of you, I feel like I shout it from the rooftops on a daily basis. I'd been wanting to place another order for quite some time. Then when I came to the end of my Makeup Revolution Brow Dual Ultra Brow Arch & Shape in Dark I took it as a sign to place an order. Deep I know...haha!

Naturally, the first item I popped into my basket was the brow dual. I absolutely love this brow pencil and felt blummin' lost without it! I'd had my eye on the Ultra Aqua Brow Tints since they were released and have been intrigued by them ever since, Naturally, I popped the shades Medium and Dark into my basket. In all honesty, I think these tints are going to take some getting used to. But I do plan to persevere. To go alongside the tints I also bought the Pro E104 Eyebrow Brush. There are a few eyebrow brushes in my collection already but I've always felt they were too big to provide any sort of precision when filling in my brows, so this appears to be a better size. Sticking with their fairly new brush collection, I also chose the Pro E102 Eyeshadow Contour Brush. In all honesty, I've never used a brush quite like this for eyeshadow and I'm not entirely sure I've worked out how I feel about it yet but I'll keep you posted!

An item I repurchased was the £1 Amazing lipstick in Rebel With Cause. My love for this lipstick is strong and I had to purchase another after my original snapped (lip swatch here). For £1 I'm not really bothered and absolutely love the shade. I've been in the market for a new black eyeliner pencil for a while so figured I'd give one of theirs a whirl. The one I picked was from the I <3 Makeup line and is the All Day and Night liner in the shade One Sin Too Many?

Finally the two items I was most excited to receive in my order were two palettes. I've seen so much love for both of these palettes and knew I needed them in my life....serious stuff, I know! The first palette I was desperate to try is the I <3 Makeup Naked Chocolate eyeshadow palette. Oh boy, just look at that beauty! I'm not going to go into any detail here as I will be doing a full review with swatches but....yes, just yes!! The second palette I picked up was the Highlighter Palette in Radiance. I'm a huge highlighter fan and I've used this pretty much every day since I've received it. The love is real people!

That's it for my haul since I don't want to give too much away. If there's anything you really want to see an in depth review on let me know. Also if you're deliberating over whether or not to place an order with Makeup Revolution, now's a perfect time. To celebrate their first birthday if you spend £25 or more, you get a free gift worth £25. Good an excuse as any, right? Not sure I can justify it myself after this order ha but the offer is on until 10am Monday 30th March (2015) if you're interested! You can visit their website here.

A few Purchases - Rimmel

Yesterday morning I nipped to my local shopping centre to quickly stop off at the pharmacy. Naturally, as a beauty blogger, I couldn't resist a quick look in Superdrug to see what they had on offer. I headed straight for the Rimmel stand as I've just heard too much about the Exaggerate Lip Liner in 'Eastend Snob' to resist it any longer. This lip liner has been hailed as a dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in the shade 'Pillow Talk'. I can't comment on that, however I tried it for the first time today and I'm pretty sure it's love. But I will get back to you to confirm!

The other product I was really keen to try was the Lasting Finish Nude Foundation. This was released a few months ago and I've had my eye on it ever since. I finally took the plunge as it's been an absolute age since I bought myself a new foundation. I have high hopes for this, fingers crossed it doesn't let me down!

Finally, as it was 3 for 2 on all Rimmel makeup I figured it was as good a time as any to eventually try the Wake Me Up concealer. Last year this concealer got a lot of love from beauty bloggers. I've been completely faithful to my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer but you know variety is the spice of life. Right? I'm wanting a really brightening concealer so hopefully this will do the job. Though I have my reservations as the shade is a bit more peachy than I expected but we'll see. That's it for my tiny Rimmel haul, are there any other Rimmel products I MUST try?

Makeup Revolution Ultra Velour Lip Cream Review with Swatches

I think it was a couple of months ago now that the Makeup Revolution Ultra Velour Lip Creams* landed on my doorstep, so this review is long overdue! These lip creams are £3 each and come in 10 shades, Makeup Revolution kindly sent me 6 of the shades. You may have already seen how much I've been loving some of them over on my Instagram.

The Ultra Velour Lip Creams have a very sweet scent, much like many other lip creams on the market. I previously found this off putting but after having tried quite a few lip creams (and loving them) I soon got used to it. These lip creams have a gorgeous velvet finish, which is not drying on the lips. Though I did find that unlike many other lip creams, these take quite a long time to dry on the lips, meaning they don't necessarily last as long. Personally I found the best method for wearing these, was to apply a good three coats (particularly the lighter shades). This generally meant that when the initial coat had worn off through eating or drinking, my lips were left stained underneath so I didn't have to reapply if I didn't want to. Result!

Of the shades, the darker shades definitely applied the most opaque. I did find with all of the shades that a minimum of two coats was needed to get an even finish. The lip creams come with a standard doe foot applicator which makes these easy to apply.

I've included lip swatches of my four favourite shades above. Though my ultimate favourite is 'Say yes, it's what we do best'. Normally when I wear reds I feel like a Disney villian, however I feel like Snow White every time I wear this....yes my inner Disney Princess is just dying to burst out!

I would definitely recommend the Ultra Velour Lip Creams* if you are after a comfortable semi-matte lip and don't mind the odd touch up. At just £3 you can't really go wrong!
